A march through March

I realized that March has come and gone and there has been no new posts on this blog. My working full time in 1st grade I am sure is some of the reason of this. Only 5 more days of this then back to being on call again. I have loved 1st grade, and even think, when I am ready to do full-time again, I could manage 1st grade, but I know I am not ready to do full time.

In March we have one week off for spring break. After spending a couple of days in Page, AZ with Brian, we came home and Brian had to go to a meeting in Salt Lake during this time, so the girls and I stayed here and played with our friends the Roberts. We went to movies, had an American Idol Pizza party and went hiking. It was just the perfect temperature for outdoor adventures. When Brian came back we took him to Zion's and hiked there also. Zion's was still in winter--no green on trees or in the river, but it was still fun and always beautiful. We will need to head back there soon.

Ashley & Meagan both got recognized at school. This is a little thing they do at the school to notice good in everyone. It meant a lot to them. Ashley has also been working hard on a Book Report and Science Fair Project. She has done a project called, "Are you smarter than a 4th grader?" We quickly discovered that she and I clash, but her and her dad work really good together, so guess who helped?? Thank heavens he is supportive!!

For Easter we had my Grandma, Aunt, and Uncle over for TURKEY Dinner. I voted for turkey, not that I don't like ham. (We actually are going to their house for ham today). Meagan was most concerned about where the Easter Bunny would hide the eggs. She was certain that he would not hide them in the back yard. After prayers of safety for the Easter Bunny to arrive, she did go to sleep and discovered that he came to the front yard. They were happy to get dressed up in their new dresses.

A big hair cut happened with the girls. They all have been talking about it for some time, but finally did it. Ashley even had enough to donate 11 inches to Lock for Love. Look at the dramatic changes, they love it!!

Yesterday, Emily, Ashley, & Brian ran/walked a 5K. The last little bit, Brian put Ashley on his back. Then she ran to the finish line. This seemed like a good idea a month ago when they all signed up to run, but Saturday morning they were not excited. Brian actually placed 3rd in his Division (obviously not many ran in his division). Emily took 4th place. Ashley, about 10th out of 12 for her age group. Meagan and I walked a short Trot around the block. Maybe next time we will adventure into walking the 5K.

We are looking forward to Conference next weekend, and would love to throw some steaks on the BBQ for anyone coming down (HINT).
